Empire River Rail, (AAR: ERRA) provides freight services to our valued customers who are engaged in various business activities such as manufacturing, processing, re-packaging, and distributing a variety of commodities. We handle an extensive list of commodities that meet the varying needs of our clients.

Empire River Rail was formed by Empire Diversified Energy in january 2024 and is headquartered in the Port of West Virginia Trimodal Riverfront Complex in Follansbee, WV.

A multi-modal rail freight facility, the port aims to use sustainable energy solutions to provide rail-based shipping, warehousing, and logistics services to this critical U.S. market.

  • Port of West Virginia is located on the Ohio River; property is contiguous with the EDE Riverfront Industrial Complex.
  • Connectivity to Midwestern, Northeastern and mid-Atlantic U.S. through rail, barge, and highway. Onsite warehousing and petroleum storage.
  • Five miles of rail onsite with company-owned common carrier service linking to Class 1 rail and regional railroads. Multi-barge dock and truck access.
  • Geographic setting is 30 highway miles from Pittsburgh and only 70 river miles to the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers confluence at The Point in downtown Pittsburgh.

Multi-modal logistics hub on the Ohio River. The terminal’s capabilities create a critical link between bulk storage and logistics for liquid and project cargo. Provides cost effective receipts of raw materials and product shipments for the Riverfront Industrial Complex and regional customers.
